
Reminder: 3rd grade students will have their Veterans Day program at H.O.W. tomorrow, Friday, November 8th at 9:30 in the cafeteria. Veterans and parents are invited to attend.
On Monday, Nov. 11th, the Veterans Day Program by the Ashburn Hanna American Legion Post 288 will be held at the County Courthouse. The third-grade students will also perform their musical program. The 21-gun salute and the official military “Taps” will be played on the west steps of the courthouse. Please have your children wear red, white and/or blue in nice dress for both days.


3rd grade students worked hard this past 6-weeks to earn points for the Triple "A" Store. Students can earn points for having good Attendance, positive Attitudes, and good Academics. Today was their first visit to shop the store and they had an amazing time! Way to go 3rd grade!


Today 2nd grade attended the H.O.W. Presidential Debate between Mr. Robertson and Mrs. Gutierrez before heading to the polls. We cannot wait until we find out who will win!






The polls are open and the lines are long. It's Election Day in 1st grade!


Join Parent University for College Night at the GHS Cafeteria on November 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Representatives from colleges and the military will be available to help parents and students explore various possibilities. It's never too early to start planning.


H.O.W. students LOVE shopping at the book fair! Remember you can send money to your student on their e-wallet or you can come in and shop with them before school. Doors open at 7:30!

Congrats to the winners of our October Attendance Challenge! Each grade-level winner was chosen from 410 students who had 2 or fewer absences. Winners received a new book and Baby Big Red as a prize! HUGE thanks to parents for their support and partnership in encouraging great attendance. We'll start fresh for November-let's keep up the great work!

NOTICE: Nominations for Gifted/Talented Services are Now Open (November 1 – 22, 2024)
Groesbeck ISD is beginning the referral process for Gifted/Talented (G/T) services for GISD's kindergarten through 8th grade students for the 2024–2025 school year. Anyone wishing to refer a student should e-mail Crala Pringle at c.pringle@groesbeckisd.net to request the nomination form. Nominations must be received by November 22. Testing will begin in December, and results will be sent home in January.

GISD is offering its Substitute Classroom Training on November 7th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the GISD Board Room, 1202 N. Ellis St. To substitute in the classroom, you must attend training. If you attended a GISD Substitute Training, you do not need to attend again.


1st Grade Pumpkin Patch field trip was a success! The kids had an amazing time. Thank you to Pastor Ben and the First Methodist Church for hosting our group.











Kindergarten Pumpkin Book Reports! These kids worked so hard and are so creative! We love how excited they are to share their love for reading and their favorite books with each other.
