Red Ribbon Week October 21-25 dress up days at H.O.W.


We got to celebrate all of our custodians this week, but we can never say enough about our Mr. Tatum. He is truly so much more than the man that keeps H.O.W. sparkling. Thank you for being such a great role model to all our students!


1st grade has been studying the effects of heat and how some changes are reversible and some are irreversible. Today they got to watch as heat causes a popcorn kernel to change and discovered that, that change cannot be reversed! What a fun way to experience science.



This week's attendance winners were 2nd grade! We celebrated with music at lunch and even had a dance off. Way to go 2nd grade kiddos and parents. We are so thankful you all make sure to be here each and everyday!




2nd grade parents, your kids have been doing a great job at learning their songs & dances for this upcoming performance!
On Thursday, October 17th the kids will have 2 performances. The first will be at 9:30 in the H.O.W. cafeteria. Parents are welcome. Dress can be casual or representing Hispanic/Mexican culture. The second will be in the gym at Enge-Washington. Please have your kids there by 5:45 in nice dress or representing Hispanic/Mexican culture.

Today we celebrated some of the hardest working staff in GISD, our custodial crew. Happy Custodians Day! Thank you for all the hard work you put into making H.O.W. the greatest of all time!






GMS Cheer will only be selling tattoos tomorrow due to high school not playing on Friday of this week.

Our Pre-K & Mrs. Beldin's students proudly show off their perfect attendance certificates for the 1st six weeks! Today, October 1st, every single Pre-K student was present at school! We celebrated this amazing achievement with a fun dance party! A BIG thank you to our parents for their support and partnership!
