To become a Substitute Teacher for Groesbeck ISD, you must:
Attend a scheduled Substitute Teacher Training; submit a Substitute Application online; be fingerprinted through TEA/SBEC; complete all required new hire paperwork and submit all the necessary documents.
Attention Class of 2024 parents! The 2024-25 FAFSA is now open and it is time to get it completed with your senior. Please make every effort to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. The student should login to their FAFSA account at studentaid.gov and complete the Student section. The student will need to provide a parent's legal name, social security number, date of birth, and email address. This will produce an INVITE to the parent to login and complete the Parent section. Once everything is submitted, the student will receive an email stating their FAFSA has been submitted and give them an estimated Student Aid Index and possible Pell Grant information.

Each February we celebrate and honor the history and contributions of Black Americans. This allows us to highlight the achievements, struggles, perspectives, and experiences of Black Americans throughout 400 years of American History. Additionally, Holocaust Remembrance Week is January 22–26, 2024.

Parent University is next Wednesday, January 24th at 6:15 p.m. at the H. O. Whitehurst campus. Shae Garcia, the Licensed Dependency Counselor of Freestone and Limestone County, will be presenting on drug and alcohol awareness. This is such an important topic for our children and community. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please come out and support our parent university program and let us know future topics that you would be interested in. We are hoping to grow this program and your feedback is important.
GISD will be on "Regular Schedule" for Wednesday, Jan. 17th. This was determined after reviewing road conditions, school infrastructure, and conditions of our buses.
Please allow extra travel time in the morning, as temperatures remain below freezing.

Due to unsafe travel on many of our back roads, GISD will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 16th. All school events for Tuesday, including practices and games are also cancelled/postponed.
We will continue to monitor road conditions Tuesday to determine Wednesday's schedule.
